Ozones latest race specific kite is here! No compromises were made on this kite, every aspect of this kite is carefully designed with one goal in mind: being the best performing kite around the racecourse.

The R1 V4 is developed closely together with riders the likes of Axel Mazella, Toni Vodisek and Nico Parlier. The V4 design takes its preceding models to the next level. Delivering performance increases in speed, stability and power while maintaining the R1s well known ease of use and accessibility.

The V4 has a re-designed internal structure which allowed an increase cell count up to 8%, due to extra internal pressure a reduction of bridle line up to 12% was possible. This in turn massively reduces parasitic drag while keeping the kite in a perfect shape.

Ozone didn’t stop there. The most important part of the area of the aerofoil, the leading edge, now features Double Transversal Shaping which means a cleaner surface. This results in a more laminar airflow over the the rest of the wing increasing the possible riding angles significantly.

Ultra Light materials are used throughout the kite. Sizes 15m to 21m use an even lighter material for the internal structure to further reduce the weight and increase light wind performance.

The enchants leading edge air intakes optimize internal air pressure. The intakes also result in faster inflation an a improved seal which in turn gives you a better chance of relaunching the kite after touching water.

Ozone made a massive effort simplifying and streamlining their Pro-Tune Speed System. The line diameter is now reduced decreasing weight and drag. As with al high performance race kites the bridle lines and speed system will require regular maintenance. Ozone recommends the trim of the kites and bridle lines to be checked every 60 flying hours. Bridle lines not to factory specification or worn (+- 15mm) must be replaced. Speed system lines which are worn should be replaced and if not up to factory specifications they should be adjusted to fit the specifications.

The Ozone R1 V4 has to be packed using the concertina method. The separately available Closed Cell Kite Compressor Bag will assist you with this. Rolling the kite up or packing it any other way will affect the shape of the Leading edge battens. The battens play fundamental part in the design to keep a proper leading edge profile for the R1, ensuring the expected flying characteristics and and stability. Improper storing of the kite will void warranty.

These kites are specifically designed for advance riders with previous foil kite experience.
